2015-06-28 Travel from HK to Shenzhen

2015-06-28

I took the chance to travel to Macau and HK on Dragon Boat Festival Holiday.
On June 20, I planned to go to Shenzhen from HK, to visit Luca and Belle. It took only 20 mins from Crystal's place to the border by bus. The bus went through Shenzhen Bay, where the scene was astonishing, especially in a great weather like the day.

The passing procedure is as bellow:
HK border > 30 seconds walk > China Border

I failed to enter into Shenzhen because I didn't have visa although I have Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents. That's funny. China doesn't accept Taiwan Passport but still require Taiwanese to have visa for entering into China. Anyway, I was asked to go back to HK. In the short distance which should take no more than 3 mins by walk from Shenzhen Check Point to HK, I was investigated by at least 3 officers. They recorded down my ID and took me to the next check point. Finally, I was took to HK Check Point which made me feel better as I knew I was back to a civilized place again.

After leaving the border, I took the bus and Shenzhen Bay was again in front of me. It was such a special experience that HK and Shenzhen are just a bay distance but the people have so different ways of living and ways of understanding the world.

2014-10-19 One of the worst hostel in HK

2014-10-19 Sunny

It was 8 Sept. 2014. In the beginning, I planned to stay in HK from 5 Sept. to 7 Sept. and live in THE SALISBURY - YMCA OF HONG KONG. However, I do love Crystal and Ilkin too much that I wanted to spend more time with my dear friends. Thus, I changed my flight back to Taiwan to 8 Sept. and booked for another night stay in HK. As I didn't have budget for the additional one night stay, I choose a hostel for my accommodation on 7 Sept. I have to say, this is absolutely one of the worst hostel I have ever tried!

Panda's Hostel, well, actually it was not so bad as the reception is in normal standard and the room set is ok. However, it did annoy me a lot as the air-conditioner kept made noise during the whole night!!! It was summer time and I could just bear the annoy sound in that night! Actually, I hardly slept and was totally tortured by the unpleasant environment.

Anyway, this is to make record of my travel experience and wish no one will suffer from what I had ever.
